Socket eyes are often used primarily for connecting associated hardware to ball and socket type insulators. Types “AHM” are designed for an arcing horn to be mounted to the body.

All IEC fittings and parts with ‘CVN’ suffix are charpy level 1 compliant (minimum energy absorption values of 20 joules at -20°C) per CSA C83-96. It is generally accepted that IEC 16MM and ANSI 52-3 & 52-5 are interchangeable.
