Definitions: 1. Other Weapons Violations

The term “other weapons violations” shall include, but not be limited to: household knives, pocket knives, firecrackers, sparklers; ice picks, or any other object which may be used to intimidate, threaten or harm others. 2. In addition, a student who in any way encourages another student to bring firearms or weapons to school also endangers the safety of others. Such conduct is expressly prohibited under this policy. Any student who shall knowingly or willfully cause, encourage, or aid any other student to possess, handle, bring, or transmit any of the firearms or weapons listed above shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, as recommended by the principal, in accordance with this Student Handbook. Disposition: 1. A student who is found to have carried, brought, used or possessed a weapon in violation of this policy or has encouraged another student to have carried, brought, used or possessed a weapon shall be subject to an appropriate disciplinary action, as recommended by the principal in accordance with this Student Handbook. 2. An exception to this policy may be made for students participating in an authorized part of the curriculum, extracurricular activity or team involving the use of the firearms, or in any organization permitted by the school to use the premises.
