California Dairy Sustainability Summit Speaker and breakout session planning for the 2020 California Dairy Sustainability Summit kicked off and a Save the Date release was issued to various media. The Summit will be held March 25-26, 2020 in Sacramento. The CMAB will again co-host along with Dairy Cares, the California Dairy Research Foundation, Dairy Council of California and the CA Dairy Quality Assurance Program.

Sustainability Communications The CMAB continues to look for opportunities to share the California dairy sustainability story, including membership in the Dairy Sustainability Alliance, a multi-stakeholder group from the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. In addition to sponsoring a farmer representative – currently Rodney Kamper – CMAB also participates in the Dairy Sustainability Awards program as well as the Sustainable Agriculture Summit and Alliance fall meeting.

Key Messages Delivered:

California Dairy Social Media Team Results: 235 posts/ 365k impressions

CMAB supported farmer team member content development to encourage positive conversations about California dairy in their social communities, which included recommendations around dairy, food and agriculture posts. CMAB amplified posts on its owned channels and continued to provide support to team members to build their channels. California Dairy Communicators CMAB provided communication updates to the group around various issues activities to align on information and responses. Daily Monitoring & Social Listening CMAB monitored traditional and social media daily, tracking Real California Milk proactive coverage, dairy and food industry trends, and issues (food safety, environmental, animal care, drought, etc.). The team provided an analysis and POV on impacts pertaining to the California dairy industry, in addition to recommendations for amplifying positive stories on Real California Milk owned social channels.
