Foodservice Update

Pizza Recipe Contest

Plans are underway to expand next years’ pizza contest to an international event. 2020 will add Mexico and 2021 and beyond will also include several Asian markets. We are excited about the potential to cross-pollinate ideas and continue to tie the continued growth of pizza with California cheese and the innovation that our State is known for.

Distributor Growth Program

The “Made in California” program for 90%+ CA cheese and earning 50% of the RCM program marketing dollars is now underway. Leprino has signed the agreement and the largest pizza distributor PFG-Roma is ready to join our volume incentive program for 2020. We are still negotiating the agreement with Saputo.

California Foodservice Research Project with Technomic

On 10/25, Technomic, CMAB, Ketchum and The Food Connector participated in a presentation to review the results of our awareness and equity study. You will hear more details at the December board meeting, but the chart below gives a flavor of the great results:
