XRT in skin cancers – special clinical situations

• SCC of the lip

skin, not oral primary lower propensity to nodal metastases comparing with oral SCC surgery vs. XRT outcome similar othovoltage or electrons with intraoral Pb shield cosmesis

• Lymph node metastases of SCC exclude H&N origin

parotid lymph nodes mets from pcSCC scalp, forehead and ear

• Adjuvant XRT to reduce risk of loco-regional recurrence – no consensus as to which patients would benefit, ?same as H&N SCC
