Status
Will all organisms listed in inclusivity/exclusivity panel be required to be evaluated? That’s what it appears from purpose. May be it’s a norm to AOAC validation but seems a lot.
Additional guidance added as a note to the first page indicating that these are recommended serovars and AOAC requires a minimum of 100 serovars.

Version 14 revised.
Agreed. There should be a definition for "romaine".
na
Defined spinach but not romaine in definitions.
Pending.
AOAC's position is that an SMPR specifies the community's consensus on the minimum accetpable performance for a given set of analyte(s) /matrice(s). Occaisionally it does turn out that the SMPR requirements cannot be met. In these rare cases the stakeholder panel can review and revise the SMPR.
I would suggest some pilot runs with methods widely used now before setting up SMPRs.

Reviewed by working group. No change proposed.
I think method name should put emphasis on pre-harvest.
"Pre-harvest" is specified in the applicability. WG discussion.
title
Change "spp." to 'species and their serovars' since serovars are numerically important, in the test panels.
Working group agreed to revise "spp." to "species", but declined the suggestion to include "and their serovars".

should be "SMPRs", not "SMPR's"
Agreed.
Revised in version 14
Not a method per say, but requirements for a method or methods. See purpose on page 1. SMPR is intentionally limited to spincah and romaine lettuce since this is a first attempt and the working group decided to keep the project simple for now. Could possibly be explanded later. It is agreed that "SMPR" is not defined in this docoument. Appendix F in the Official Methods of Analysis provides a complete description of sn "SMPR". Note: "SMPR" is normally spelled out in the actual published "SMPR."
Is the method specific or romaine lettuce only, or can it be used for other types of lettuce?

No change proposed.
"SMPR" is spelled out. The working group thinks the purpose section adequately "defines" what an SMPR is. A refernce to OMA Appenduix F to be added.
SMPR is not defined. More context needs to be provided in the tontext of this document in order for a thorough review to be possible.
