USD Men's Rowing 2009-2010

TOR.EROS QOHPErE AT NATfONALS Every athlete that has ever committed himself or herself to competition in intercollegiate athletics has wondered about their place on the national stage. How good of an athlete am I? How good is this team? Only a few teams are good enough to find the answer to these questions. With many sponsored collegiate sports, competing at the NCAA championships is the culmination of a season. With a sport like football, the game everyone wants to be in is the Rose Bowl, the final competition that sorts out the national champion. With men's rowing, it is the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's National Champion– ship Regatta. To be counted as a qualifying team for the IRA's is more than a testament to the teams that make the grade in competition. It is a testament to those Universities that have made the commitment to supporting men's rowing inside of their intercolle– giate athletics department. Only a select group of men's crews are supported inside of a NCAA Division I athletics program. USD is a member of this group, which includes the Ivy League as well as programs such as California and Washington.
