CLASS OF 1948

CLASS REPS: Margaret (Margie) King Huycke, Patricia (Pat) Millidge Roberts and Charlene (Charlie) Smart Sibbit Nancy Stewart Russell went on a trip around Iceland. She is very involved in The Academy of Life Long Learning and is heading a study group for Arctic Studies. Her granddaughter Jennifer is at Havergal coaching rugby and planning extracurricular trips for students. Kittie Mcphedren Fells and her husband George are still living in their house and going to Georgian Bay in the summers. They are busy birdwatching; George is writing poetry and Kittie is painting and involved with the Heliconian Club. Sally Griesman Brenzel is looking forward to the marriage of her granddaughter. Joan Wilkinson Hoolihan has sold her condo in Florida and recently enjoyed a cruise. She has a grandson being married in Quebec City shortly. Mary Graham Hogarth has been a busy travelling lady. She spent five weeks in Holland and England and went on a CLASS REP: Evelyn (Evie) Watt Ogden After some absence in gathering Class News, Evie Watt Ogden is thinking ahead to the 70th Reunion in 2019! She now relies on others to assist her failing sight and hopes that a classmate or two will step forward to assist a bit with planning. Her Mike died in the fall of 2014, after which Evie sold the farm property and moved into a retirement home in Peterborough. She recently settled back into Millbrook at Centennial Place (near Peterborough). Her three children are in Ontario, but not nearby; she is pleased to be back closer to old friends and her church community. Sallee (Lewie) Lewis Rymal remains in Brockville and is hosting two students from China in her home at the moment. Her two daughters live in Toronto, one of whom – Clela Errington – is a celebrated singer/songwriter with recordings and concerts to her credit. June Caithness Bruxner-Randall lives in Hampshire, England. Widowed three years ago, she and her daughter enjoy visiting the CLASS OF 1949

Baltic cruise with her daughter Nikki Crutchley Lewis 1985. In August, daughters Eve Hogarth Lewis 1974, Michelle and Nikki took her on a safari in Zimbabwe and on to South Africa. She had time to move from Gravenhurst to Toronto. Diana Cook Wurtzburg and her husband Chris have sold their home in Devon. Alison Farmer Gibson has moved from Ancaster to Toronto. She and her husband Kerr and her dog and cat are very happy in their new home not far from their old house in Wychwood Park. This year will be the 70th anniversary of our graduation. Pat Millidge Roberts and Margie King Huycke are planning a lunch at reunion time in September. Margie celebrated the birth of her second great-grandson Cole William in January 2018.

Sheila Smith Shortly, who lives in Sarasota, Fl, visited Ann Macdonald Macintosh, both of 1949, in Muskoka last July.
