RR-Velar-Brochure

8-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION All Diesel and Petrol engines in Range Rover Velar are coupled with an 8-speed Automatic Transmission. With eight closely spaced ratios, the transmission ensures that you are always in the optimum gear, maximising fuel efficiency and acceleration. Gear changes are almost imperceptible and shift schedules intelligently adapt to your driving style.

PETROL ENGINES

P250 The Ingenium 2,0 litre 4-cylinder 250PS Turbocharged Petrol engine produces 365Nm of torque and delivers outstanding fuel economy and driveability. –– The intelligent Continuously Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) system varies the extent to which inlet valves are opened, reducing engine-pumping losses. This lets the engine ‘breathe’ with maximum efficiency, optimising power and torque. –– CVVL works in combination with dual independent variable cam timing for ultimate operating flexibility, resulting in excellent power and fuel economy across the rev range. –– For excellent acceleration and effortless overtaking, maximum torque is available between 1.200-4.500rpm. –– The twin scroll turbocharger is fed by an integrated exhaust manifold which increases the transfer of energy to the turbine – significantly reducing turbo lag and improving engine response.

P300 The high performance Ingenium 300PS 2,0 litre 4-cylinder Turbocharged Petrol engine features upgrades to the boosting system. –– The uprated turbocharger features a high flow compressor wheel delivering 26% more air, enabling a peak power output of 300PS. –– The twin scroll turbocharger features ceramic ball-bearings which reduces friction and improves transient response. –– The twin scroll turbocharger is fed by an integrated exhaust manifold which increases the transfer of energy to the turbine significantly reducing turbo lag and improving engine response.

P380 The 3,0 litre V6 380PS Supercharged Petrol engine produces 450Nm of torque and is the top of the range for ultimate performance. –– The Roots-type twin vortex supercharger provides linear power delivery and maximises responsiveness. –– A spray guided direct injection system carefully manages the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber for improved combustion, extracting more energy from the fuel injected. This results in excellent power, while improving fuel economy and reducing emissions. –– The engine also features dual independent variable cam timing to vary inlet and exhaust valve operation, working alongside lightweight pistons with ultra-low friction piston rings, for increased performance and efficiency. –– A twin, contra-rotating balancer shaft system is employed to maximise refinement; resulting in an engine with incredibly smooth power delivery.
