AESA, a Swiss company that continuously innovates in cable quality metrology, is celebrating its 40 th anniversary in 2018. During its four decades, AESA has demonstrated its expertise, its understanding of test equipment per- formance, and how it relates to the measurement of electrical parameters. The company constantly strives to leverage its know-how to pioneer innovative and cost-e ective solutions that provide its clients with an advantage in terms of quality and process improvements. Coaxial cables: These can now be measured with a compact system. Scorpius DT is new desktop equipment integrating embedded VNA and PC • LAN cables: with a similar approach, the new Cobalt DT o ers identical bene ts (compact solution) for the balunless measurement of cables up to Cat 8 • Large section conductors can be accurately measured. ResTest 210 allows linear resistance measurements of copper and aluminium samples in the laboratory, while the patented ResTest 813x cross section measurer continues to be e cient directly on the production line • Industry 4.0 is not new, but AESA continuously expends its contribution through CIQ, its quality data management solution The company will be showcasing: • Beta LaserMike (An NDC Technologies brand) Stand: 204 The Beta LaserMike products team from NDC Technologies will talk about several new gauging solutions with modern styling and expanded capabilities in connectivity, communication and control consistent with Industry 4.0. “Our new LaserSpeed Pro non-contact length and speed gauge, UltraScan Pro wall thickness and concentricity gauge, and BenchMike Pro o -line diameter and AESA-Cortaillod – Switzerland Website : www.aesa-cortaillod.com

ovality measurement system integrate more easily into production networks, providing the real-time data exchanges and tight processing e ciencies that today’s manufacturers need to deliver true product quality,” said Stefano Cicetti, EMEAI sales director for NDC’s cable and tube business. “The new Beta LaserMike gauges provide the most comprehensive communications platform with expanded Ethernet con- nectivity. These new platforms also lay the foundation for future wireless connection and o er other extended connectivity options for improved operational control and enhanced processing capabilities for e cient production performance.” • The new LaserSpeed® Pro non-contact length and speed gauge o ers high accuracy (better than ±0.03 per cent) and wide measurement depth of eld for the full velocity range. LaserSpeed Pro o ers a new, faster processing engine for faster communications and supports ModBus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Pro net IO and Pro bus DP. Over 8,000 gauges have been installed worldwide. • The new UltraScan Pro provides high speed, precision measurement of product wall thickness and concentricity and is now equipped with an expanded feature set that includes faster processing and measurement capabilities; high speed tolerance checking; multi-layer measurements (up to four layers); enhanced connectivity via built-in web server; and other advances. UltraScan is known industry-wide for its patented ‘SNAP’ technology, with full automatic setup and calibration for quick, simple operation. The new gauge supports ModBus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Pro net IO, Pro bus DP and DeviceNet. • The new BenchMike Pro is now equipped with a larger, higher- resolution display and o ers faster communications processing. This accurate and reliable gauge now o ers Ethernet and USB connectivity. BenchMike is an o -line diameter and

Established in 1981, Cersa-MCI is a French designer and producer of measurement instruments for wires, cables and optical bres. The company’s range includes: • Surface quality measurement for ne wires: After 14 years of development, SQM instrumentation is almost ready for sale. It works on any wire below 2mm diameter, including drawn, plaited and enamelled. A demonstration of the prototype will be shown on the stand. • Optical bre: A complete line of measurement instruments and software for full in-line quality certi cation. The company has over 20 years’ experience, and has supplied, worldwide, more than 350 fully equipped Cersa drawing towers. The company o ers technology for high speed draw-towers: LIS-G, NCTM, CM5, AIR and shortly the BUB, all cover the need for bre drawing control, from the bare bre (diameter, airline, spinning, defects, accurate tension) to the coating (diameter, lump and neck, bubbles, delamination). • Fine wire: LDS (laser di raction sensor) for ne wires down to 5µm diameter. High accuracy measurement, including all accessories and software for in-line or lab measurement. Cersa will soon launch its three-axis LDS-U at 40kHz for very ne cables down to 50µm diameter. • High-speed diameter measurement for ne cables: LPS-H. Measurement at 40,000 samples per second on three axes for diameter, lump and neckdown detection. An all-in-one instrument for up to 20mm diameter. • CIM software: providing a com- prehensive set of tools for production traceability with statistics analyses, spool by spool for in-line quality certi cation, and sample by sample for lab control. All these products are the result of customer demand, and close cooperation between
