Analytical Methods for Photon Beam Calculation

 Early methods of dose calculation  Based on separating the dose into primary and scatter component using empirical methods (e.g. Clarkson scatter integration)  Inhomogeneities were corrected by scaling the fluence/ dose with density (Equivalent Path Length method, Ray Tracing ...)  Works well if electron transport and effect of inhomogeneities on scatter component can be ignored
