Kernel-Based Methods

 Combine an analytical calculation of the primary photon interactions with the subsequent transport and energy deposition by secondary particles described by pre- calculated kernels  Point-spread kernel : Absorbed dose from both secondary electrons and photons around the interaction point  Calculated by Monte Carlo in infinite medium of water since too chaotic (sometimes photoelectric, Compton, …)  Energy spectrum derived from measurements (pdd)
