Meet The Toreros

Adam Combs returns for his third season with the Torero defensive unit where he will start at invert ... last year at invert he turned in a solid season for the Toreros ... he ranked fourth on the team in tack.Jes with 52 (36 solo) ... he also contributed a team-best 4 forced fumbles, along with 3 quarterback sacks, 7 tackles for loss (-35 yards), 3 pass break-ups, I fumble recovery, I blocked kick and 1 interception (vs. Redlands) ... twice he tallied single-game bests of 8 tackles (Drake & Georgetown), and three times totaled 7 stops (Redlands, Fairfield and Wagner) ... he was selected 2nd Team PFL All-Academic, and was a member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll ... also a Dean's List honoree and Presidential Scholar ... prior to USD he prepped at Centennial High School where he was a three-year letterman on the football squad ... during his senior year he was I st Team All-Mountain View with the team reaching the CIF quarterfinals, and was named the Defensive Player of the Year ... during hi s sophomore campaign, the team advanced to the CIF Finals ... he chose USD for its location, beautiful campus, the people and scholastics. Chris Conroy returns for hi s third season with the Toreros where he will compete for a starting slot at defensive end ... this past season he tallied five tackles (all solo) and was

credited with a quarterback sack (-8 yards) in the team's PFL game against Butler ... was also selected to the PFL Academic Honor Roll ... prior to USD he prepped at Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona where in hi s senior year team was state champions at 12-1-1 ... the team went undefeated and were champs of the Kino League ... earned team captain, All-City, All-County and All-League honors ... junior year team went 13-1 and were state finalists with Chris earning All-League honors ... also lettered in baseball and track & field ... was one of only two sophomores on state championship baseball team ... chose USD for great weather and football program ... also

playing time in the USD secondary at rover ... this past season he appeared in all nine contests finishing with 15 tackles (9 solo) ... his best outing came at Valparaiso where he totaled 3 stops (2 solo) ... notched two tackles in four contests (Dayton , Fairfield, Butler, Wagner) ... was named to the PFL Academic Honor Roll ... in the 2000 season chipped in with 6 tackles (5 so lo) in four contests ... prior to USD attended Clayton Valley High School .. senior year earned MVP, Mr. Defense and All-B.V.A.L. honors after totaling 166 tackles ... tallied 134 stops during hi s junior season with team winning league title ... chose USD for educational opportunites, great location, and the football program ... also recruited by Columbia, Yale and UC Davis. Jeff Incerty returns for hi s third season with the Toreros where he is projected to start at tight end ... last year caught six balls for 63 yards ( I 0.5 yards per catch average), but more importantly, he found the endzone with three of those receptions ... he caught touchdowns of 5 yards (Azusa Pac ific), 2 yards (Dayton) and 22 yards (Wagner) ... he caught two

Brent Labarrere returns for hi s third season with the Toreros where he will compete for all the kicking duties, and also possibly see action at wide receiver ... last year saw action with kickoff duties .. . in season-opener punted three times for I 04 yards (34.7 average)

with a long of38 yards against Azusa Pacific ... named to Academic PFL Honor Roll ... during hi s freshman season in 2000, he punted 19 times for 674 yards (35.5 average) with a long of 60 yards (Whittier) ; he also placed five punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line ... prior to USD attended Damien High School where he was I st Team AII-CIF,

I st Team All-Sierra League, and All-Valley with team going I 0-2 ... he hauled in 40 receptions and averaged 44.6 yards in punting ... also lettered in track & field where he was AII-CIF, All-League and a CIF Finals participant ... hi s father, Paul , played wide receiver at New Mexico ... chose USD for academics and beautiful campus .. . also recruited by Oregon State, Arizona State and Cal ... Dean' s List hon oree. Major: Accounting. Josh Noga returns for his third season with the Toreros ... he is a projected starter at tackle

with the defensive line unit after earning a starting nod late last year ... in 200 I he chipped in with 9 tackles (5 so lo) and one tackle for loss (-3 yards vs. Drake) ... he tallied three tackles against Fairfield, and was credited with a fumble recovery at Valparai so ... named to 200 I PFL Academic Honor Roll ... in 2000 he had six so lo tackles, including 2 sacks (-12 yards) and 3 tackles for loss, and one pass break-up ... prior to USO he prepped at Farrington HS where he earned I st Team OJA Red Conference honors and All-State Honorable Mention ... chose USO for academ ics and location ... also recruited by Western Kentucky , Montana State and Nevada-Las Vegas.
