It has been found that community residents that have ties and social exchanges with their neighbors may contribute toward mutual trust and solidarity, promoting pro- social action. Collective efficacy theorists Sampson, Morenoff, and Earls (1999) suggested that friendship and kinship, along with residential stability, has an influence on the buy-in of community residents.
