Spring / Summer 2018 Activity Guide

Level One Successful completion of the Preschool Aquatics Program or equivalent skill is required. Entering and exiting the water safely, opening eyes underwater to retrieve objects, and recovering from a float or glide to a vertical position are taught in this class.

Adult Learn to Swim This class is for adults who would like to become more comfortable in the water. Together we will learn to float, tread water, and explore the six swimming strokes. This is an ongoing class that allows participants to progress at their own pace. This class also provides preparation for leisure swimming, and would be great to take prior to joining the introduction to fitness swimming class. Participants must be able to enter the water confidently, float with assistance and put their face in the water. Ages: 18+ . REG. BY: June 4–25 7:15– M 8722 $30 M/R May 26 8:15 p.m. $40 N

ALTS (Adult Learn to Swim) Calm Water

Are you an adult who is curious about the pool, but don’t know what to do once you arrive at the CAC? Are you nervous about entering the water? Are you comfortable getting in, but worry about getting your face wet? Do you dream of someday participating in water aerobics classes or perhaps learning to swim, but don’t know how to get started? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes,” then our new Calm Water class is for you! In this class, we will meet you at the front door and then tour the CAC while the facility is closed to the public. We will show you everything that you need to know in order to workout with confidence, including the locker rooms and cardio room. You will learn about water safety and we will introduce you to the leisure and therapy pools. As you gain confidence, we will be here to assist you with entering and exiting the pools. You may even choose to test out our water tools, such as flotation devices and pool noodles. Explore at your own pace, with no pressure, and make the CAC your pool!
