SYMPTOM

TEST-REMEDY

§] Set meter on X10 ohms scale and check for continuity between 11 Y and 12Y. If a reading is obtained (one or two ohms) the 0.6 ampere fuse is good. If meter reads infinity (CD), replace fuse. ® Set voltmeter to the 50 volt de scale. Connect the negative probe to ground

Machine fails to sew in manual positions

or 142 and the positive probe to 4Y. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, the Fingers Down Safety switch is good.

CLAMP SAFETY._ Normal

If not, replace switch.

@ Set the voltmeter to the 50 volt de scale. Connect the negative probe to ground or 142 and the positive probe to 1Y. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, the Clutch Dog switch is good. If not, replace switch @ Connect the negative probe to ground or 142 and the positive probe to 102. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, the Patch switch (pedal) is good. If not, replace switch. ® Connect the negative probe to ground or 142 and the positive probe to TP19. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, diode SR1 is good. If not, replace the circuit board. Connect the positive probe to 7Y. If 24 volts de is still not present, replace the APL Motor Auto Start switch. ® Set the voltmeter to the 50 volt de scale. Connect the negative probe to ground or 142, and the positive probe to 162. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, the @) Set the voltmeter to the 50 vof't de scale. Connect the negatiw probe to ground or 142 and the positive probe to TP4. lfa 24 volt de reading is obtained, the Patch Folding Safety Switch is good. If not, replace switch. @) Set the voltmeter to the 50 volt de scale. Connect the negative probe to ground or 142 and the positive probe to 3Y. If a 24 volt de reading is obtained, the Clamp · Table Forward switch is good. If not, replace switch. LOADING switch and sewing switch are good. If not, replace first one switch, then tbe other if necessary and recheck.
