ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS- SETTINGS AND ADJUSTMENTS

DENSE FINISH & LENGTH SWITCH

CLUTCH DOG SWITCH Set switch to click w ithin 1/8" movement of clutch dog. This odj•istment ca n onl y be made when clamp table is in the rea r position, stop .motion is locked, and the clutch solenoid is ra ised manuall y .

"OFF THE MACHINE" ADJUSTMENTS - Holding a sca le against front of switch unit, check the click points of both switches as fo !lows : When switch unit lever is depressed 1/16" the Dense Finish switch musr click. When lever is furth1;r depressed an additional 3/ 32", the Length swi tch must click. This unit is pre-set for this timing, but if realignment is necessary, do so by means of the adjusting screws . ·

THREAD PICK-UP SENSOR The over thr OII/ of the stop moti on is suf f i ci ent t o momentarily actuat e t his sensor. The sensor will t rigger t he timi ng I .C. on the thread pi ck- up boar d when t he actuator f i r s t pass es in f r ont of the sensor and t hen retur ns to its home pos i t i on. To t est t he sensor, place a screwdriver in front of the sensor . The thread pick- up function wil l not operate un– til you remove the screwdriver from in front of t he sensor . This removal of the steel actu– ator wi l l cause thread pi ck-up t o f uncti on . Adjust the gap bet ween the face of the sensor and the side of the actuator to . 030 11 ( . 050 11 max . ) . Make sure that t he bottom of t he sensor is l evel with the top of the actuator.

"ON THE MACHINE" ADJUSTMENTS - Ins ta II the switch unit on machine to the fol lowing s_ettings : It must be h igh enough on its bracket so thot the forward movement of actuator clicks both switches, and the roll remains in contact with the actuato r as long as possible. See Thread Pickup switch adjustment. Do not set too high or the c lamp circuit will be broken when the clamp table travels ba ck to "start sewing" position, causing the clamp to fall momentar il y . When ad justment is correct , th ere will be fi ve or six den;;e stitches be fore stopping at the end of the sewing cycle .
