G ROUPING I TEMS IN A F OLDER  D ISCUSSION

It’s possible to group items to control how they appear in the view; however, you can only group items that appear in tabular and timeline views. For example, you cannot group contacts in the Business Cards view.

Group items in a view using the Group By dialog box or the Group By box in the view. The Group By box is an area above the column headings to which you can drag and drop column headings in order to group items.

When items are grouped, the group by field information displays above each group. For example, if you group by the Company field, the company name appears in a heading above each group. However, the Company field also appears in the columns. Use the Show field in view option in the Group By dialog box to hide the grouped field in the table.
