M4 MOTORWAY HERMITAGE CYCLE TRACK SECTION 18 ORDER Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an order on 25th May 2016 on the M4 Motorway in West Berkshire, under section 18 of the Highways Act 1980 to stop up highway previously comprising motorway verge and with special road status to allow the lawful passage of cycles, pedestrians and equestrians. The effect of the Order is to stop up an area of motorway verge between junction 12 and 13 and at the foot of the embankment at the northern end of Hermitage village, carrying the M4 over natural ground level. The order does not affect the operation of the motorway. This measure would be in the interests of road safety, recreation, healthy journeys and connected communities This notice was not published at the time of making the order due to an operational omission.
