It seems like a misnomer to talk about a “dry corridor” in a country that is so green. Having traveled throughout Honduras, most recently in November 2017, I have seen the country’s beauty and lush landscape up close. Indeed, the photos in this issue make the area look anything but dry. However, this ecologically sensitive region faces several months of heavy rain, which causes flash floods that destroy crops andwash away roads. These terrible down-

pours are followed bymonths of extreme drought that transform the landscape and endanger the lives and livelihoods of residents. Thanks to INVEST-Honduras and theWorld Bank, the Dry Corridor is gettingmuch-needed assistance to improve resilience and grow incomes.
