JUNIOR (2006): Played in and started all 58 games...hit .314 with 75 hits, a team-leading 18 doubles, had the team-lead in home runs with eight and led the team in RBI with 58...had 28 multi-hits games and 13 multi-RBI games...went 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI against Kansas (2/18/06)...went 3-for-5 with one double and three RBI against Portland (4/8/06)...went 3-for-5 with one double, one home run and four RBI against San Francisco (4/30/06)...tied the single-game home run's hit record at USD with three in the NCAA Regionals win against Saint Louis (6/3/06).. .went 5-for-5 with three home runs, one double and eight RBI in a wi n against Saint Louis (6/3/06).. .was drafted in the 39th round of the 2005 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox. SOPHOMORE (2005): Named a 2005 pre-season All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper...also tabbed as the No. 23 overall pro prospect among all col lege sophomores in Baseball America's list of 'Fab 50' players by class....named a candidate for the 2005 Johnny Bench Award .. led all Torero players with 10 homeruns and 113 total bases.. .hit .279 with 67 hits, 14 doubes and 42 RBl. .. hit safely in 6-of-7 games in early March, including going 2-for-4 with three RBI in a series deciding victory over San Diego State (3-13-05)...was 8-for-15 with 7 RBI during a three-game sweep at Santa Clara (April 9-10), including hitting a grand slam in game one- a 19-2 Torero victory...set a career– high with five hits in the series finale at Santa Clara (4-10-05), going 5-for-5 with a double and two RBIs...knocked in 5 runs at Cal State Northridge (4-19-05), doubling and hilling a three-run homer...earned an AII-WCC second team selection . FRESHMAN (2004) : Garnered freshmen All-American honors by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball News.. .named the 2004 West Coast Conference/Rawlings Freshman of the Year...also honored as a second team AII-WCC selection...hit for a team-leading .375...lead the league in total bases (84), ranked second in homeruns (4), balling average (.375), hits (78), runs scored (50) and RBI (49), also ranked third in slugging % (.656)...started a total of 49 games...posted 13 multi– hit games...named the WCC/Rawlings Player of the Week (5/24) after going 8-for-14 (.571 BA) with nine RBI , two homeruns and four doubles during a USD three-game sweep over Saint Mary's...went 4-for-6 (HR, 3 RBI , 2 R) vs. Gonzaga (5/8)...went 4-for-5 with one home run , one double and 4 RBI against Saint. HIGH SCHOOL: Earned one varsity letter playing for Ken Kendrena at Bishop Amat Memorial High ... also earned a letter in football. ..hit .375 as a senior en route to earning a first-team All-Serra League selection and a second-team All-San Gabriel Valley. PERSONAL: Born on Aug . 17, 1987 in Glendora, Calif... .has yet to declare a major at USD ...chose to attend USD because of the academic reputation and the baseball program ... brother Anthony played football at Iona College.
