SOPHOMORE (2007): Named to the Wallace Award Watch list for the best collegiate player in the nation...was named to the Roger Clemens Award Watch list vuying for the nation's best collegiate pitcher. FRESHMAN (2006): Made 15 appearances with 13 starts.. .posted a 4-3 record with an ERA of 4.25...Rivals.com named him a second-team Freshman AII-American...was also named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball. ..was named to Baseball America's All-Freshman team...was second on the team in strikeouts with 93... made his col– legiate debut against Texas throwing four solid innings of relief to pick up the save (3/3/06)...was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week after a solid performance against Pepperdine as he allowed one run on five hits while striking out six in eight complete innings of work (4/21 /06)... Had another solid outing against Georgia allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out a season-high 11 batters in eight complete innings of work (2/26/06)... picked up win against San Diego State allowing one run on three hits, while striking out 10 in eight innings of work (3/10/06). HIGH SCHOOL: Earned two varsity letters in baseball playing for Keith Merkel at St. Mary's High... posted an 8-1 record with an ERA of 0.50 as a senior en route to earning the state of Arizona Player of the Year award along with a Baseball America Al l-America distinction ...was drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 Major League Baseball draft by the Angels... was named first-team Al l-State as a junior after posting a 8-2 record with an ERA of 0.95. JUNIOR (2006): Made 25 Appearances with two starts... posted a 2-0 record with an ERA of 6.18...had a solid outing against UC Irvine as he struck out a season-high four in 1.2 innings of work (2/21 /06)... in his first start of the season against San Diego State (5/2/06), he retired the first nine batters he faced before allowing four runs on four hits in 3.2 innings of work. COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Santa Ana Community College... as a sophomore he posted a team-leading 2.51 ERA with a record of 4- 4... struck out 48 batters in 46.2 innings of work.
