A Ever Unanswered Call Oliver Lovern
“I miss you” The words slipped from my mouth
“You never met me” The voice was distant I’ve heard stories Great tales of the troubles you faced “You never met me” Her voice was now broken Her words were thin, wispy like a spider’s silk in the wind Drawn from within not knowing the reason Mother calls you My Guardian Angel Says you sent me Gave her this gift of life after you lost yours My own voice broken My legs like leaves in the fall Threatening to collapse with every spoken truth “You never met me…” Now in sync I long to know you The line of life and death separating our souls I wish heaven had a phone line I’d spend days asking questions Getting to know the woman gave my mother life She was broken But kind “I miss you” The words slip again But all i get back are birds and the sway of leaves in the wind The sunset on you birthday
