Wire acquisition

Mexican industrial corporation Xignux, based in Nuevo Leon, has completed its acquisition of American Bare Conductor of LaSalle, Illinois. The 290,000ft 2 facility is nowpart of Xignux’s Viakable CME wire and cable division (VKMUSA), manufacturing electric wire and cable. “We are happy to be in LaSalle and grow our business in the Illinois Valley,” said Adolfo Riveron, chief executive officer of Viakable LaSalle. The city of LaSalle and the Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce (IVAC) provided important business retention

assistance to Xignux Viakable. “IVAC was pleased to assist with the new acquisition, helping the development team with supporting data,” said IVAC executive director Joni Hunt. American Bare Conductor, established in 2006, will operate under the name Viakable Manufacturing (VKMUSA) and will service the USmarket through its parent company CME, which is an electrical wire and cable supplier. Xignux comprises four divisions: cables, transformers, infrastructure and foods, operating over 25 production facilities and a diverse group of distribution centers in Mexico, the US, India, Brazil and Colombia.
