DESCRIPTIONOFTHEPROJECT

CarriçoUGS isbasedon caverns leached ina saltdome. Surfaceplant includes the facilities for injectionandwithdrawal of natural gas from the caverns inoperation. Theexpansionof theCarriçoUGS infrastructure is amulti step /multi stage long termprojectmainlydue to the fact that theaverageconstruction timeof a salt cavern is about three years and there is a limitation to thenumber of caverns that canbedeveloped simultaneously (currently two). Presently there is onenewcavernunder construction (leaching phase) and another onewhichwill start filling inwith gas (cushion gas andoperating gas) in the 1st quarter of 2013.
