THE HIDDEN CITY

The English cemetery , the first Prot estant cemetery in Spain, has exot ic plant species in an historic artis tic garden from the 19th and 20th centuries. SECRET MUSEUMS The Museum of Art and Popular Tra ditions , housed in a 17th century inn building, shows how Malaga's inhab itants lived in the 19th century. To go back to prehistory, visit Malaga Pre historic Park , in the La Araña district. If you prefer an historical tour of Málaga through paintings, sculptures and graphic works, come to the Mu nicipal Heritage Museum (MUPAM) . At the Wine Museum you can learn how winemaking has evolved and take part in a wine tasting. If you are interested in crafts and decoration, visit the old artisan neighbourhood of San Felipe de Neri where you will find the Glass and Crystal Museum . To immerse yourself in the world of musical instruments, visit the Inter active Music Museum (MIMMA) . MONUMENTS The Old María Cristina Conservato ry is a beautiful 15th century build ing, originally in Mudejar style. Visit Atarazanas central market , an example of Malaga's 19th century architecture, or Salamanca Market ,

with its unique neo-Arabic architec ture.

THE ROOFTOPS OF MALAGA The Gibralfaro viewpoint offers the best views of the city. You can reach it by going through the Puerta Oscura Gardens .

The streets between Plaza de la Merced square and Plaza de la Con stitución square make up one of the main nightlife areas. If you pre fer somewhere more relaxed, try La Malagueta , Muelle Uno or the Pe dregalejo seafront promenade . If you want to have fun away from the city centre, you can head to the Plaza Mayor and Málaga Nostrum leisure centres.
