DUDU MLOMBO’S STORY OF CHANGE. MY INTRODUCTION TO THE ECO-SCHOOLS PROGRAMME Since childhood, long before settling on teaching as a profession, I have had a deep love of nature and farming. It has always given me great pleasure to see interactions between plants and animals but also to see people being part of that – in a harmonious way. I am now an educator at Nancy Shiba Primary School, in KwaGuqa Ext. 5, eMalahleni. My association with the Eco-Schools Programme began after meeting with WESSA representatives who showed us how it supports learning and teaching.

NANCY SHIBA JOINS THE PROGRAMME We were struggling with various environmental issues and were excited to join the programme. It gave the learners an opportunity to use the food garden as a practical learning tool, offering mind-changing life skills, such as taking care of the environment and not littering.
