Moving the earth FOR THE CUSTOMER

The SANY brand of yellow metal earthmoving and roadworks equipment is distributed locally by Goscor Earthmoving Equipment (GEM). The aim of representing the SANY brand in South Africa is to expand GEM’s total product range and to give customers an option for both smaller and larger equipment.

has a Kawasaki hydraulic pump.” This six cylinder in-line water cooled engine produces 571 Nm of torque (at 1 300 rpm) and a maximum of 140 HP (104 kW) at 2 000 rpm. It has a boom length of 5,7 m and an arm length of 2,4 m while it has a 360° swing radius. Its bucket's capac- ity is 0,92 m 3 . The SY210 excavator was sold with a full cabin guard while it is standard that the cabin is air conditioned. The excavator is also covered by an 18-month/3 000 hours (whichever comes first) warranty. To ensure maximum uptime, SANY has service and breakdown services nationally while spare parts are readily available. Sany is represented in all major cities in South Africa. SANY’s main differentiator is its highly competitive pricing for a world-class prod- uct which is complemented by increased parts-holding and full in-field service and technical back-up. 0% Deposit BGC opted to finance the excavator through Goscor Finance that required a 0% deposit, while it selected the rent to own option. On the larger SANY equipment, this represents a significant saving. The aim of this campaign is to give customers easier access to SANY equipment, especially given the tough economic climate where financing is not readily available.  GEM, with its distribution of the SANY brand, ensures peace of mind. SANY is one of the largest equipment manufacturers in the world and was listed on 3 July 2003. The SANY/Goscor partner- ship provides the customer with top quality equipment, outstanding service and a highly effective parts division. It guarantees the lowest cost of ownership. GEM has 12 sales staff allo- cated to the SANY brand with representation if major areas. The strategy is to secure the brand in South Africa where after selected markets in sub-Saharan Africa will be focused on.

T he addition of SANY to the GEM portfolio last year, diversifies its market penetra- tion. The SANY range that is available locally includes excavators, front-end loaders, mo- tor graders, and rollers for various industries, ranging from construction to mining and from quarrying to plant hire. Sany excavator SY210 GEM recently sold a Sany SY210 excavator to KwaZulu-Natal-based Bouvardia Green Consultancy (BGC) where it will be used to load trucks with building material such as sand. BGC is a mining and building material supply company. It mines sand in KwaZulu-Natal and supplies hardware and buildering suppliers Durban South. Nicole Mchunu, the owner of BGC says she and her business associate, who only uses SANY machines, were impressed: “We are very happy with reliability and lower run- ning costs. The service received from SANY is exceptional. I have personally observed their machines working on my site they were truly impressive.” “Sany is the number one manufacturer of earthmoving equipment in Asia. Goscor

wanted to enter the larger earthmoving sector and the Sany product was ideal as it is designed for the African environment with enhanced durability,” says Struan Raw, the sales representative from GEM re- sponsible for selling the excavator to BGC. “With steady inroads to contract proj- ects and mining, there has been a keen in- terest in the product. We are currently busy negotiating a five unit replacement deal with one of our current customers which bears testament to this,” Raw continues. Precision engineered Bouvardia Green Consultancy’s new precision-engineered hydraulic excavator is built with industry-leading technology to offer maximum job site productivity. Its digging tool is ideally suited for the task it will be used for (sand mining), but it is also perfectly suited to earthwork, stone exploitation, as well as road construction. Raw says that this machine represents the unique selling point of SANY. “It has optimal fuel economy, offers the customer lower cost of ownership, is fitted with an American Cummins 104 kW engine and
