STAKEHOLDER PANEL ON INFANT FORMULA AND ADULT NUTRITIONALS (SPIFAN)

Neal E. Craft, Ph.D., Eurofins Craft Technologies , inc. Vitamins A & E Neal Craft received a BS in Human Nutrition from Ohio State University and an MS in Human Nutrition from Virginia Tech. He began his PhD at Virginia Tech in Biochemistry working on trace mineral metabolism in a diabetic model. He accepted a position at USDA and completed his PhD in Nutritional

Sciences at the University of Maryland. His professional career began at the USDA, Human Nutrition Research Center doing trace mineral research followed by HPLC analysis of vitamins and carotenoids. Dr. Craft moved to the Organic Analytical Research Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology where he served as Clinical Coordinator of the NCI/NIST Micronutrient Quality Assurance Program. In 1994, Dr. Craft founded Craft Technologies, Inc., a nutrition testing laboratory in Wilson, NC. The lab provided a range of vitamin and carotenoid testing in the food, supplement, infant formula and biological fields. Over the years, Dr. Craft helped pioneer biomarker testing in Dried Blood Spots (DBS) and tested thousands of samples from developing countries for vitamin A and iron status. In 2018, CTI was acquired by Eurofins Scientific where Neal serves as Chief Scientific Officer. In addition to book chapters on analytical methodology for vitamins A, E and carotenoids, Dr. Craft is an author of over 60 publications. He has been a member of AOAC for approximately 30 years and has served on several ERPs and Methods committees.
