Precious Metal Clay with Valerie Jewell Location: Cape Coral Art Center PMC can be molded, rolled, or shaped into forms to create jewelry and small sculptures. While firing, a small percentage of shrinkage will occur, the remaining product is pure silver! Stones can be fired in place or placed using a bezel after firing. PMC can serve as a base for enameling, brought to a high polish, antiqued, or used as a surface for Kumbu. With a few simple tools, your imagination is the limit to what you can create! Students will learn how to make jewelry by manipulating various wires with pliers, adding stones, beads, and other materials. Copper Enameling with Valerie Jewell Location: Cape Coral Art Center Learn how to create stunning bracelets, earrings, and necklaces using a few simple and inexpensive tools. In this class, you will take pieces of pure copper and finely ground glass and mix them with an oil adhesive. You will fire the piece yourself and once it has been fired the enameling powder turns to glass, essentially creating a glass in copper piece. These techniques create moving and sta tionary parts to make unique one-of-a-kind jewelry.
