US ;l) Volley&d£ ~ S taJf, Jennifer Toms enters her third year at the University of San Diego, but the view from the bench will be different this year as she begins her first season as head coach of the Toreros. Toms becomes just the third head coach in USO Volleyball history, rep lacing 1998 West Coast Conference Co-Coach of the Year, Sue Snyder, who stepped down to spend more time with her young family. For the past two seasons, Toms played an integral role in the Toreros' success as USO posted back-to-back West Coast Conference Championships and twice advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. During her tenure at Alcala Park, USO posted a 50- 10 record, produced eight all-conference selections, three All-District VIII perfo1mers and a First Team All-America selection - Petia Yanchulova. Toms brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to her first collegiate head coaching assignment. Toms completed a standout volleyball career at the College of William and Mary, where she was twice named Colonial Athletic Conference Player of the Year ( 1990- 9 1). The two-time All -Southern Region selection ( 1990-91) gained national level playing experience in 1990 when she competed on the gold-medal-winning U.S. Olympic Festival North Region Team. Her collegiate coaching career began when Toms joined the volleyball staff at Indi ana State University where she served as top ass istant from 1992 to 1993. Toms then took the top assistant position at North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 1994 to 1997 before joining Sue Snyder 's staff at the University of San Diego for the 1997 campaign. A native of San Diego, Toms graduated from the Co llege of William and Mary with a degree in Art History in 1992 and completed her Master 's Degree in Sports Adm inistration from North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1997.

Shaney Fink enters her first season as assistant coach at the University of San Diego after spending the past four years developing an impressive international and collegiate coaching resume. Fink began her vol leyball coaching career at Co lgate University for the 1994-95 seasons where she served as top assistant. Following her stop at Co lgate, Fink took over head coaching duties at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA, where she coached girls and boys varsity vo lleyball for three seasons. In 1998, she served as head coach for the Israeli Beach Volleyball National Team after playing beac h and indoor volleyba ll for Team Israel from 1997-98. Fink capped a stellar collegiate career ( 1990-93) at Cal-Berke ley and won selection to the A ll -PAC- IO Decade Team. After her Golden Bear career, Fink joined the WPVA Beach Volleyball Tour and represented Israel in the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour in 1998. Fink completed her BA, graduating with honors in Social Science from Berkeley in 1994.

Tammy Leib! enters her first season as top assistant coach at USO. Leib! brings vast international playing experience to the Torero staff after competing in three Olympics ( 1988, 1992, & 1996) and more than 400 international matches for USA Volleyball. A member of the US 1992 Bronze-Medal– Winning Team in Barcelona, Leib I first joined the US National Team in 1987. Another highlight of her distinguished interna– tional career included a bronze medal won at the 1990 World Championships. Lei bl played collegiate vo lleyba ll at Arizona State University from 1983-86 where she ranks in the top five in multiple career offensive and defensive categories. After two All– Pac-Ten seasons at ASU, Leib I earned Al l-America honors in 1985-86. Fo ll owing her Sun Devil career, Leib! was se lected Pac-Ten Player of the Decade. In addition to her ste llar collegiate and internationa l career, Leib! played professionally for three years in Italy and Brazil. Leib! is married to Geoffrey Leib!, a USO graduate, immigration attorney and an ass istant go lf coach at USO.
