Mice hind leg arteries tolerate doses of up to 2,000 Gy delivered by spatially fractioned MPBs in a single session without occlusion development within 1 year, in contrast to the deleterious consequences of comparable doses delivered by seamless X-rays.

The permanent sequelae of microplanar irradiation appear to be confined.
