GIRLS SWIMMING Ou r acqua tic athletes this year included Colleen McGrath , Erin O' Donnell , Lisa Bartman, Veronica Lawlor, Ann Ca rter, Nancy Wilfong, Mary Agnes Walsh, Betsy Meyers, Tracy Drake, Betsy Franklin , Bridget Brennan, Debbie Pea rson, Cha-Cha Mallamo , Sue Norton, Suzanne Wh ittaker, Ma rga ret Gunn and Lucy Arth row. With the experience gained th is past season, many of the girls hope to reach the the AIAW National Championships next year.

faking a big "splash" in their firs t year of intercollegiate competition was the women's swimming team. Although they weren't entirely succe sful, the girls continually worked harder and became more intent on winning. Under the guidance of Gary Becker, the girls met daily for two-hour training sessions which often included weight training. In one of the longe t competitive continued through March, engaging in dual meets and invitational along the way.
