A cover from Xinjiang to Shanghai, bearing (C14) $800, tied by very fine strike of Chinese and Xinjiang bilingual ‘JIMSAR’ ( 吉木薩爾 ) cds, very last period usage of the old currency stamp on cover, after 1st April 1956, the old currency stamps were not available to use for postage after 1st April 1956. A stampless cover from Szechwan to Shanghai, tied by ‘SZECHWAN/SHIMIAN’ ( 石棉 ) cds, h/s box ‘Delivery person 431’ in character and ‘SHANGHAI/1.21.57’ arrival cds in red with seal label attached.
