J. MAYER H. Architects _ A TOPOGRAPHI- CAL PECULIARITY | Photo by David Franck | Text by Anna Lengle | Just three years ago the J. MAY- ER H. Architects studio was not very well-known outside of Germany. With their spaceship-like shapes their projects attracted attention of custom- ers and city inhabitants, and their nice finishing, and contextuality earned them respect of professionals. Futuristic design has became a trademark of J. MAYER H. Architects. Inspired by the results of the previous projects, Jurgen Mayer again used ‘liquid’ forms, thus achieving as smooth a transition from outer space into inner one as possible. German people were always about exactitude, punctuality and precision. These are the qualities that helped Jurgen Mayer create a perfect project Dupli Casa close to Ludvigsburg, that is perceived by many as an architectural mirage representing architecture of the future. It is remarkable that this ‘future’ is created at the same place as the previous residence of the owners. The geometry of Dupli Casa is based on the plan of the house which was at the site earlier. The new building ‘duplicates’ the previous building, however the building is turned 225 degrees from the vertical axis of the previous building. Concrete is the ideal materials to implement seam- less structures of digital architecture that the authors of the project are concentrated upon. It allows to sculpture buildings in the direct sense of the word. Manipulating forms bravely, the authors gave the villa a sculptural outer appearance, and the design
