Babesta Beat AW 2017

IN FASHION| SNOOPY & BELLE Snoopy and Belle make their debut during fashion week at Brookfield Place this fall. These stylish beagles, who have been dolled up by a host of top designers, from Betsey Johnson to Diane Von Furstenberg, will be dressed by Tony Award winning Hamilton costume designer Paul Tazewell as well as several others—Babesta included! Visitors are invited to vote on their fashions on display, and can interact with an app replete with Snapchat & Instagram filters so you can snap a selfie with this debonair duo. September 8-October 1, 2017, Brookfield Place.

AroundTown Fall is here and so are ample things to see and do throughout the city and beyond. Catch a polo match, roll up your sleeves for some urban gardening or get outta the city for some fresh air upstate to enjoy the outdoors whether at a sculpture park, a glamping site or the ski slopes. HORSE AROUND | VICTORY CUP AT GOVERNOR’S ISLAND Hold your horses! The Victory Cup Polo Match is coming to NYC! Throw down a blanket and bring a big hat (why not!), to enjoy the fashion, luxury vehicles, farm-to-table food, adult beverages and more. This is their first event in NYC and it’s going to be a show-stopper. Look forward to a battle of the Ivies: Harvard vs. Yale, rival polo teams with a rich history. In addition to the polo, the event will also feature a classic car show, food trucks, a children’s playground and of course a jaw-dropping view of Manhattan. If you’re feeling fancy (and in need of some top shelf grub), get a Victory Cup Farm-to-Table Pass and enjoy a delicious lunch alongside the polo players on their white linen covered, 200 foot table. Pop your collars, this will be a fun time straight outta the Preppy Handbook! September 23, 2017, Governor’s Island, NYC. Children under 13 free.

EATUP | BROOKLYNGRANGE ROOFTOP FARM This is not Old MacDonald’s Farm. The landscape is decidedly urban, but the organic fruits and vegetables grown here are the taste of the town. In 2010, a group of New Yorkers took on a challenge—to create sustainable urban farming on rooftops of the city. The Brooklyn Grange is the largest rooftop soil farm in the world, producing over 50,000 pounds of organically cultivated produce per year. Visiting the farm is a treat: you can meet the chickens, or shop the farm stand for veggies grown on the roof, honey from the beehives, or Sullivan St Bakery bread. You can even roll up your sleeves with the farm team and get in on the action. Open every Saturday, with FarmFamily Day (featuring special workshops and child-friendly activities), every third Saturday of the month. E-I-E-I-O! 11am-4pm until October 21, 2017. Brooklyn Grange, 37-18 Northern Blvd at 38th St., LIC, Queens.
