INTHE CITY Zooe INSTAGRAM SENSATION, ZOOEY MIYOSHI HAS TAKEN SOCIAL MEDIA BY STORM. WE GOT THE SCOOP! Z ooey M iyoshi is definitely living the fab life. While she calls LA home, the 5 year old has already seen her share of the world. Born into a family of Vietnamese and Japanese descent, the pint size fashionista has traveled everywhere from Coachella to Tokyo always sporting the coolest children’s brands, from Tiny Whales to Tiny Cottons, in unexpected combos that give inspiration to all ages. Zooey’s mom, Mai Nguyen-Miyoshi, who was once known as ‘Tokyo’s #1 party girl’, started conceptualizing Zooey in the City while she was pregnant and, knowing a thing or two about style, has never looked back. Zooey is both model & big sister, and is entering a new chapter balancing a budding career (more play than work) with elementary school. We are amazed at the fashion footprints Zooey has made before her first day of kindergarten (over 40K followers on Instagram). We chatted with Mai to learn a bit more about her always-in-fashion mini me turned social media mogul. Babesta: It’s kindergarden time for Zooey this fall! How exciting. What is she most looking forward to? Mai: She’s excited to learn and meet new friends. She just had a kindergarten assessment exam and she came out so excited and said it was so fun and easy. I love that she loves to learn! Babesta: Can you share some tips for back-to-school looks? Is there pressure to choose an awesome first day of school ensemble? Mai: I don’t want to make Zooey stand out TOO much. I know she will be running around and playing A LOT, so I don’t want to send her to school in expensive clothes that can easily get dirty. We plan to keep her school wardrobe as simple and comfortable as possible. Her school is actually recommending school uniforms, so if we dress up anything it will be her shoes...There are actually some brands that make pretty good basic items. But, if she had a dress-code free day, I love brands like Tiny Whales [for some fashionable and comfy kindergarden looks].
