Marmon/Keystone expands alloy inventory Marmon/Keystone, a wholesale

Marmon/Keystone inventories more than 15,000 sizes and grades of carbon, alloy, stainless and aluminium tubular and bar products. Service centres and sales offices are located throughout North America, with corporate headquarters in Butler, Pennsylvania.

When the oil industry built pipelines to transport oil thousands of miles, across deserts, through forests, tundra and beneath oceans, Heldite became an important component due to its universal properties, and it is still used extensively worldwide. Heldite is universal, so there is no need to carry a selection of different products. It is suitable for flanged, screwed and compression joints, and will act as a locking agent during joint assembly. It can be used for joining pipework, tubes and rubber hoses with or without a gasket. Because it is a liquid jointing compound, unlike a silicone paste it will not squeeze out of/break off within us to not only grow with our traditional customer base, but to also meet the needs of new customers.” This additional stock is stored primarily at Marmon/Keystone’s break bulk centre in Bucyrus, Ohio, allowing for quick access to the company’s 26 warehouse locations throughout the United States. Specific sizes, grades and conditions required by customers are also stocked at local warehouses.

distributor of tubular products, has broadened its product offerings by adding a wider variety of 4140 alloy tubing to its inventory. “There is growing demand in many industries and applications for higher physical properties, which led us to stock a greater size range of 4140 alloy tubing,” said national marketing manager Ron Lenhart. “This will allow

Jointing compound Heldite sealant can prevent the leakage and seepage of water, steam, gases and oils where tubes and pipes are joined. It was formulated in 1918 to fulfil an increasing demand for a versatile and universal sealant in the established shipbuilding industry and embryonic aircraft industry. By 1922 Heldite had been approved by the various government departments responsible for quality control in the UK and throughout the commonwealth.

a joint, which can cause damage to interior working parts.

Heldite is non-abrasive with inherent plasticity – its thermoplastic and adhesive factors combat the effects of vibration and temperature change, with a temperature range from -40°C to +350°C. It is inert and does not affect other materials, and is suitable in the assembly of dissimilar metals. It is also waterproof and anti-corrosive, and is completely unaffected by seawater. Heldite is made in the UK from sustainable raw materials.

The real test for Heldite came in 1929 when it was used by Supermarine in Southampton to effectively seal the complex fuel, oil and water cooling systems of the Schneider Trophy winning S6B seaplane – forerunner to the Spitfire.

positioned to deliver solutions to these challenges. Oak innovations in press design, tube processing and fin handling help to improve production efficiencies.

7mm and now 5mm as manufacturers continue to experiment in order to reduce manufacturing and raw material costs, as well as improve performance and efficiency. Burr Oak Tool Inc has been directly involved with the HVAC industry throughout this evolution, from the first hairpin bender and expander in the mid-1950s to the 5mm fin and hairpin production of today.

These small diameter tubes, plus other features, have allowed air conditioners to become less expensive to purchase and operate. For over 65 years Burr Oak Tool Inc has designed customised production machinery for the heat transfer and tube processing industries. Oak machines

are installed and successfully operating in over 70 countries.
