Titanium clad copper connectors

HVAC tubing Ameritube, an ISO 9001:2008 registered company founded in 2004, rebuilt a 40-year-old copper tubing facility producing 500 tons per month. Specialising in copper, brass, and copper nickel, the company employs a unique business model to deliver value to its customers, leveraging overseas capabilities, US-based production, and US distribution, making Ameritube a valuable partner for HVAC tubing needs. Specialising in domestically produced copper nickel, Ameritube’s knowledge, on-site laboratory and understanding of customers’ applications positions the company to be a reliable supplier for the HVAC industry.

Nu-Tech specialises in working with the customer to design and manufacture small quantity runs and R&D size batches of designs, but can, of course, also manufacture production size quantities. The company also produces large copper tubes by extrusion, followed by electron beam welding of the end plug and flange. These large tubes are used in the glass coating industry where they ‘sputter’ the metal onto glass for use in televisions, touch screens, computer screens, solar panels and architectural glass.

Nu-Tech Precision Metals Inc is a Canadian extruder of seamless pipe, tube and shapes from metals such as all grades of titanium, zirconium, hafnium, niobium, copper, high purity aluminium, nickels and speciality stainless. The company’s plant is located just outside Ottawa, Canada. The company’s range of products includes titanium clad copper connectors for heat pumps. The titanium and copper are co-extruded in one process, which results in a metallurgical bond between the two metals. The end(s) are then machined back, allowing the installer to make a connection between two different lines – in this case one titanium line and one copper line.
