Trip Down the Medway

Nice One Cyril! Seven members of Thames Valley branch were

presented with their IPA membership certificates during a branch Sunday lunch at the England’s Rose public house at Postcombe, Oxfordshire. Cyril Wise was awarded a

certificate for having been a member of the Association for 60 years. Cyril, aged 93, who is the longest serving Thames Valley branch member, was unable to be present at the lunch. So Mike Vince called on him at home to present his certificate. Well done Cyril! Len Doncaster, and his wife Olwyn, were also delighted when Len was presented with his 40 year certificate. In all 30 members and 3 guests from Germany enjoyed the celebrations.

Kent branch

There is a licensed bar on board and the members were entertained by ‘Rich Picture’, a duo performing music from the fifties and sixties. Rich Picture comprises Mick Abbott, Kent branch Chair, and Malcolm Lenny. The branch hope to make this event a regular fixture in their calendar.

Sixty members from Kent branch enjoyed a three-hour trip on the river Medway aboard The Kentish Lady - a craft which carries sightseeing passengers during the day and groups on special occasions in the evening. The cruise took the group from Maidstone up to Allington Lock then down to Wateringbury and finally through to East Farleigh.

Two Cities Make 20 Years In October, 2013, members of Two

London branch and the City of Westminster branch. It was agreed by all for the new branch to be known as the Two Cities Branch. Twenty years on Two Cities branch is still operating and is looking forward for the next twenty years. Bob McCormack , branch Secretary.

Cities branch gathered to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the branch. This historic event was held aboard a boat on the river Thames. The day centred around a cruise between Westminster Pier, as far as the Houses of Parliament, and then down stream as far as Greenwich. During this cruise the group were served with a wonderful IPA cake. Why Two Cities? In 1993 a joint meeting of the four London branches was held at Wood Street police station. An idea was proposed to amalgamate two branches together - City of

In Memory William Eric Salt , from Staffordshire branch, passed away in October, 2013, aged 85. Notified by Bryan Davies, Staffordshire branch Secretary.
