Hillrock Estate Distillery Solera Aged Bourbon Sherry Cask

A blend of 16 different vineyard blocks from old vine zinfandel vineyards planted on sandy loam soils, with an average vine age of 86 years. Fifteen months in oak, the wine has a long, lingering finish. ITEM 30186492 Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2013 Tempranillo grown in clay-limestone soils, harvested by hand, destemmed and vinified with indigenous yeasts was aged for 14 months in neutral American and French oak. Ripe red fruit, with a medium-long, finish. ITEM 30188943 Teso La Monja Romanico 2015 Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) from old vines undergo fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels and was aged for six months in new French oak. Considered the first bourbon to be aged in the solera method. Produced by blending mature seed bourbon with mature estate bourbon, then finished in 20 year old Oloroso sherry casks. Notes of walnut, fig and candied fruit merge with caramel and butterscotch on the long, balanced finish.
