Piql AS has together with European partners and through three major proj- ects (Archivator E!4863, MiLoS E!7360) and AStoR (BIA 219744) developed technology and components for a complete system for long term preservation and in- dexing of digital data, called Piql Preservation Services. The system includes hardware for writing and reading data on the storage medium (piqlFilm), a packaging for the film (piqlBox), a secondary packaging (piqlBin) suit- able for handling in a fully automated storage system (piql Vault) and a WEB-based system for data ingest and

retrieval. Both the storage medium and the packaging have a documented lifetime of 500 years.
