Commodore’s Comments Commodore, Randy Pagel Believe it or not, it is Haul Out weekend. The final weekend that our boats will be on the island. Where did the summer of 2018 go? I want to thank all of the candidates for their willingness to run for the Board and Flag. Regardless of the outcome, we truly appreciate you stepping up to give of your time and talents to make NCYC the best yacht club on the lake. Linda and I cannot thank you enough for the participation, comradery, volunteerism and great times that we have had this year. We have truly appreciated all of your help and friendship. It is an experience that we both will never forget. I want to thank the Ancient Mariners and the First Mates that have worked closely with the Flag and Board to ensure a successful 2018 season. I would like to thank everyone who participated and planned this year’s activities. It is not an easy task and it takes lots of time, planning and manpower to pull it off. More importantly, it takes participation from the membership to make it successful. It has been an honor for me to be your Commodore for 2018. All I ask is that you give Ian, our incoming Commodore, the same help and encouragement that all of you gave me. It has been a great ride………….. Thank you, all. Vice-Commodore’s Comments Vice Commodore, Ian Blackburn Discussed the ballot process. Thanked P/C Pat Carroll and board members who are leaving for their years of service. Thanked Tom the Friday night cook and best of luck to the candidates. Rear-Commodore’s Comments Rear Commodore, Bill Calihan Today we look forward to the future as we elect three new board members and a new Rear Commodore. Many thanks to all of the candidates for stepping forward and putting your hat in the ring. As I have said before “a club cannot live by dues alone - “good luck to all!! Also a big thanks to all the members for a great year. Whether you served as a weekend O D, weekday manager or chaired one of our many events, you helped moved the club forward. We cannot forget the First Mates and the Ancient Mariners who do so much to support N.C.Y.C. throughout the year. Last but not least, Commodore Randy and his Lady Linda. Thanks to both of you for your great leadership throughout 2018. We had a great season and an awesome Commodores Cruise just this past week. Thank you two again. P.S. Please don’t forget that the next two weekends we need your help to get the club ready for closing for the winter. It’s not hard and the more help the easier for all. See you next week.
