How to Get a Library Card... With your Kearney Public Library card, you have access to all of our materials and computers. Getting your library card is free – all you need is a valid form of photo ID and proof of your current mailing address. Kids 17 and younger need to have a parent with them to get a library card. Replacement cards are issued for $5.00.

ADULT PROGRAMS PUB QUIZ @ THE CHICKEN COOP: Ages 18 & Up. - Meet in the basement of the Chicken Coop once a month and play our trivia game! 30 trivia questions in one hour. People can form teams of up to four people or play alone if they like! The team with the most correct answers wins a $40 gift certificate to the Chicken Coop and bragging rights. Please do not use your smart phones to search for answers to the trivia questions. Call the Library before the quiz to get one question in advance! STORIES FOR FAMILIES - Celebrate the Kearney Area Storytelling Festival with national storyteller Dovie Thomason. As a Lakota and Kiowa Apache storyteller Dovie adds personal stories and untold histories to the traditional tales of First Nation cultures. The result is a contemporary narrative of Indigenous North America told with elegance, wit and passion.

TAX RETURN ASSISTANCE - This free tax assistance is provided by AARP tax aide representatives on Thursday afternoons for 10 weeks. Participants must bring social security card, photo ID, last year’s tax return if possible, all W2s and 1099s, list of deductible items, and unemployment compensation statements. First-come, first-served basis. Kearney Public Library – Computer Lab on the lower level.
