LiaisonNorth-South IP capacity subscription (2014–2022) Firm capacity for the North-South linked is restricted to 230GWh /d. Such a physical constraint accounts for the existence of two balancing zones. The current conditions lead to a high rate of subscription to the South link. Subscriptions are restricteduntil 2018by theCRE. Asaconsequence, long-term subscriptionsarenot possible. The terms and conditions for subscriptions from April 2014 are currently being discussed. This situation is a prime example of why capacity requirements to bebuilt between theNorth and theSouth zones. The subscription rate in the south- north direction is, however, very low.
