COCKTAIL METHODS

In your specs, you will read certain terminology which describes how to make your drinks. It is vital to the quality of our drinks that we get these right every time..

BUILD • This is the simplest way to make a cocktail • Fill a glass with ice , pour in the contents • Stir • Add a garnish and straw then serve

LAYER • The process of pouring one liquid on top of the other without mixing them • The secret is to add the second liquid very slowly so the force of the pour does not cause them to mix • The best way to do this is to pour straight down a bar spoon

MUDDLE • Put the muddling ingredients into a mixing glass • Mash gently with muddler • Citrus fruits should be squeezed before adding to the glass • Herbs should be lightly pressed rather than mashed • Sugar sweetens but also helps to release oils in fruit and herbs
