❖ Albertsons Companies – Now adding RCM Seal to Lucerne Cheese

Albertsons Companies, which owns Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Pavilions, and many other chains now has the Real California Milk Seal on most of their Lucerne brand milk items in over 600 stores throughout California and many in Nevada. In addition, Albertsons Companies has recently added the Seal to approximately 26 Cheese items including Lucerne Brand Chunks, Slices and Shredded Cheese.

CMAB Processor Meeting The CMAB conducted our annual Processor Meetings, the first of which was held on September 27 in Anaheim, followed by the September 28 meeting in Stockton. There were between 30-40 processor attendees at each meeting, representing all categories of products made from 100% California Milk. There were several speakers, including Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), who presented current and projected trends in dairy as well as Technomic, who presented what the opportunities for dairy products are within the foodservice segment. The CMAB offered a panel discussion on 2018 marketing plans and how to work closer with the CMAB to sell more products made from California Milk. These meetings are beneficial in educating dairy processors and offering them solutions to today’s issues.
