KIDS MILK MARKETING/FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 ______________________________________________________________________________ Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grants • Hometown Grant events were conducted with the Los Angeles Rams at Highland Elementary School in Inglewood on October 10 th ; the Los Angeles Chargers at Jefferson Elementary School in Lennox on October 24 th ; and the San Francisco 49ers and San Jose School District at Olinder Elementary School in San Jose. Team Activations / Amplifications • Healthy eating messages and Fuel Up to Play 60 information with the Real California Milk seal will be distributed to students participating in weekly school assemblies hosted by the Los Angeles RAMS in 2017 and 2018. • The CMAB participated in a November 20 th Junior Rusher race event with the 49ers and students at Washington Elementary School in San Jose. Milk Cooler Partnership • Work began with Dairy Council of California to develop a program for distribution of school milk coolers in key territories. A total of 24 coolers from the remaining CMAB inventory will be provided through grant applications in cooperation with DCC Community Nutrition Advisors to support dairy optimization and access to healthy foods at schools using DCC nutrition education curriculum. Additional activities included: • Continued participating with the Local School Wellness Policy Collaborative and Action for Healthy Kids executive committee. • Continued working with teams and school districts to place NFL flag football kits in team territories. • Worked with schools to complete fall funding grant applications. Health & Nutrition Dairy Milk Education and Promotion Conference Sessions: “Setting Families Up for Nutrition Success, A Food First Approach” • Nurse Barb Dehn led educational sessions during two health professional conferences attended by more than 200 California physicians, physician assistants and nurses held in San Francisco and Anaheim. Barb’s talks focused on a food first approach to health & wellness for all ages and incorporated new science-based research around whole dairy fats on cardiovascular health, nutrient needs for overall family wellness, and a
