Provide privacy without sacrificing natural light S tained glass windows enhance homes by adding aesthetic appeal, privacy, and unique character while allowing natural light to filter beautifully through the glass. Stained glass is back—adding colour, charm, and personality to modern interiors. Be inspired by the way natural light interacts with stained glass. It casts coloured shadows, creates dynamic moods throughout the day, and turns an ordinary window into a living canvas. Unlike curtains or blinds, stained glass filters light without blocking it, offering both beauty and function. Stained glass windows are visually striking and can serve as a focal point in any room. They come in various designs, colours, and styles, allowing homeowners to express their personality and complement their interior decor. The intricate patterns and vibrant colours create stunning light displays, casting colourful shadows and enhancing the ambiance of the space. In modern homes, stained glass isn’t confined to windows it is also being used as splashbacks in kitchens, for natural light in bathrooms, skylights, doors and room dividers. Instead of traditional floral motifs, many of these designs feature abstract, clean lines, neutral tones, or even frosted textures. We look for ways to express identity in our homes, stained glass provides an opportunity for personalization. Interiors are expected to inspire, uplift, and comfort. The way-stained glass changes throughout the day – as the sun moves, clouds pass, or seasons change – adds a living element to the home that few other materials can offer. Whether through bold architectural installations or small, sunlit ornaments, stained glass is proving it deserves a spot in the modern design conversation.

Rock fishing safety tips W ear a life jacket. No matter your experience level, it is law to always wear an appropriate life jacket when rock fishing. Life jackets significantly increase your chance of survival if you are washed into the water. An on-the-spot fine of $100 applies to those fishing without an approved lifejacket. Anyone who is helping you rock fish, as well as children in your care, must also wear an appropriate lifejacket. To learn more about finding the right lifejacket while rock fishing, visit the NSW Government Water Safety website or watch the ‘How to choose the right lifejacket for rock fishing’ video. For more information, including a map of high-risk rock fishing locations on the Central Coast, visit the NSW Government Water Safety website. Never fish alone - Fish with at least three people and within sight of each other. If someone is washed in, one person can stay and help while the other alerts emergency services (call 000). Mobile phone users can also dial 112 to access emergency services. Inform others of your plans - Always let friends or family know where you are going and when you will be back. Wear light clothing and appropriate footwear such as shorts, a spray jacket will let you swim easily if you are washed in. Jumpers are heavy and difficult to take off. Use shoes for the conditions - cleats, sandals and sandshoes with non-slip soles suit different surfaces. Carry safety gear - Wear a life jacket or buoyancy vest. Also bring something buoyant that can be easily thrown and held onto, to help you stay afloat. Carry ropes, a float and torches. Fish only in places you know are safe and check conditions - Be aware of local weather, swell and tidal conditions before going fishing or call the weather information line 1900 937 107. Conditions change dramatically in a short period of time. Check swell forecasts via Willy Weather, SeaBreeze and subscribe to Roads and Maritime Authority weather email alerts. Observe first, fish later - Spend at least 30 minutes - watch your intended spot before fishing to know the conditions over a full swell/ wave cycle. Wave conditions can worsen as the tide changes - you should know whether the tides are high or low and coming in or going out. Plan an escape route in case you are washed in If you are washed in, stay calm, swim away from the rocks, look for a safe place to come ashore or stay afloat and wait for help to arrive. Stay alert - Don’t ever turn your back on the sea - if the waves, weather or swell threaten your fishing spot leave immediately. Ask for advice from locals they may be able to tell you when an area is dangerous. Do not jump in if someone is washed into the water -Use your rope or something that floats to rescue the person. If there’s an Angel Ring nearby know how to use it. For regular updates and alerts on fishing subscribe to Recreational Fishing Alliance safety email alerts and newsletters. Visit the Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW website or Safe Fishing website for detailed rock fishing safety information.

Finding peace by the ocean. H ave you ever stood by the tranquil ocean, feeling a profound sense of calm wash over you? It’s as if the gentle rhythm of the waves beckons you to close your eyes and let go of all worries. If this resonates with you, you’re not alone. Many individuals experience a soothing effect when they hear the ocean on calm, sunny days. Many of us love to sit near the ocean or a river and gaze out at the water -- often, we can sit for long periods simply observing the gentle movements of the water. As we stand by the water’s edge, the gentle rise and fall of the waves create a soothing pattern that resonates with the beating of our hearts. This synchronized rhythm induces a state of relaxation, lulling us into a separate mind. Though we may not be conscious of it, the water could be inducing a mildly meditative state of calm focus and gentle awareness. The blue expanse of the ocean on tranquil days is a sight to behold. This vast, separate canvas of blue has a profound effect on our psyche. Blue is often associated with calmness, serenity, and tranquillity, and the ocean’s hue embodies these qualities perfectly.
Why Are Pollinators So Important for Food? S pringtime heralds the awakening of nature’s bounty, as plants burst into bloom and beckon pollinators with their vibrant colours and sweet fragrances. This season of renewal is especially crucial for pollination, as it sets the stage for the growth and development of countless crops that sustain both humans and wildlife. As bees and other pollinators visit flowers in search of nectar and pollen, they brush against the reproductive structures of plants, picking up and depositing pollen grains along the way. This process, known as cross-pollination, is essential for the reproduction of many plant species, including numerous fruits, vegetables, nuts, and flowering plants. Pollinators have an enormous impact on agriculture and the food we eat. In agricultural ecosystems, spring pollination is essential to produce staple crops such as apples, cherries, avocados, almonds, and blueberries, as well as a myriad of other fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Without the diligent efforts of bees and many other pollinators, many of these crops would fail to set fruit, resulting in diminished yields and economic losses for farmers. Without pollinators like bees, butterflies, birds, bats, and other insects, many of our favourite fruits, nuts, vegetables, seeds and flowers would disappear. Much of the food we eat, the materials we use and even medicines we need wouldn’t exist without the help of insect pollinators. Unfortunately, pollinator populations all over the world are decreasing due to pesticide use, habitat destruction and disease. Gardens are a great way to help local pollinator populations. How can you help to conserve and protect pollinators? • Don’t Use Pesticides. • Provide Trees, Shrubs and Groundcovers for shelter. • Plant Flowers that Provide Nectar. • Plant in Clumps for Easier Foraging. • Deadhead Old Flowers to Produce New Flowers. • Plant Native Plants for Specialized Pollinators.

Neutral bedroom designs bring timeless elegance
N eutral palettes are the perfect backdrop for creating a calm and inviting space where you can unwind after a long day. Bedrooms should be for relaxing, and using neutral tones can be the perfect start for a serene design. In this bright and airy bedroom, warm natural light flows through large windows, highlighting the soft neutral bedding. The textural elements of a room often get over looked. A neutral backdrop creates a welcoming interior when mixed with warm textures such as rough-hewn wooden elements, shiny tiles, nubby linens, and brushed velvets. Create a serene retreat with soothing tones, layered textures, and elegant accents. Layering textiles is the key to creating a warm, well designed space, and neutral colours allow you to create this space more easily. Neutral will always be a classic. If you decide you need some vibrant hues in your life, then simply add a few inexpensive pillows in a bold colour, wall art, bed lamps or a beautiful bouquet of bright or native flowers or plant pots to add extra colour. Think of a neutral colour scheme as an investment, allowing you to showcase your personal tastes and show-off your design choices and personal style. There is a reason designers commonly choose neutral walls, especially in modern interiors, it allows the lines of high-quality furniture and the architecture of a room to come alive and be noticed.

Growing up with pets is more than play
B eyond being adorable companions, pets offer a myriad of benefits that contribute to the holistic growth and development of children. From fostering empathy and responsibility to improving physical and mental well-being, the presence of pets in a child’s life can have profound and lasting effects. It’s about connection, growth, and learning responsibility in a way that’s fun and emotionally rich. Whether it’s building empathy, encouraging physical activity, or helping a child through tough times, pets offer unmatched developmental benefits. Pets aren’t just cute companions—they can play a powerful role in a child’s emotional and developmental journey. Whether it’s a loyal dog, a curious cat, or even a tiny guinea pig, the presence of a pet can deeply influence how a child grows, learns, and relates to others. In today’s fast-paced, screen-heavy world, a living, breathing friend can provide grounding, empathy, and real-life lessons that no app or TV show ever could. Looking after a pet isn’t just about feeding it also involves grooming, cleaning up, giving baths, and noticing health changes. These daily tasks help children understand that caring for a life takes effort and consistency, helping them build better habits and time management.
When kids feel sad or anxious, pets offer quiet comfort without needing words. Especially for only children or shy kids, pets become loyal friends who are always there to listen. Petting a dog or cuddling a cat can instantly help kids feel calmer. Science shows that interacting with pets can lower stress hormones and boost happy chemicals in the brain. Animals don’t always listen right away. Kids may need to repeat things or give pets time to adjust. Through this, they learn patience and how to handle things that don’t go as planned. Pets are great conversation starters! Whether at the park or vet’s office, kids often meet others with similar interests, helping them feel more confident in new social situations. Caring for a pet becomes a family activity—taking turns walking the dog or choosing pet food involves teamwork and brings everyone closer together. When a pet feels sick or sad, kids naturally want to help. This helps them learn to care for others, and the empathy they build often extends to how they treat people too. Pets can be a wonderful addition to a family, especially for children. However, not all pets are suitable for kids, and it’s important to choose the right one based on factors such as age, temperament, and lifestyle.

Peaceful, Shaded Retreat in your Backyard T ransform your outdoor space into a tropical paradise with a Bali Hut! These stunning, thatched-roof structures aren’t just about looks — they bring real benefits to your home. They are also beautiful, adding a distinctive look and a touch of the exotic to your backyard. But did you know that Bali huts increase the value of your property, too? Buying a Bali hut will not only give your own family years of enjoyment, but when it comes time to sell your home, the Bali hut will serve another purpose for you. Bali huts increase the value of your property by expanding the usefulness of your outdoor space. Whether your yard is large or small, a Bali hut makes your yard more functional no matter the weather. It can be used as a lounge area, a play area, an eating or cooking area, and so much more! Prospective home buyers will jump at the chance to have a home that offers such a luxury. Bali huts feature environmentally friendly roofing materials. These materials are very low maintenance and are not vulnerable to the effects of moisture such as mildew. They are 100% waterproof and because the roof is impenetrable by the sun’s rays, Bali huts offer total UV protection. This also means that Bali huts provide a cool place to be in the summer and a warm insulated place for the winter. In essence, Bali beach huts turn your garden into an all-season place to enjoy. The natural, organic design of Bali beach huts will fit seamlessly into any outdoor space. They are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and configurations so they will fit into just about any garden, whether you have an expansive yard or a small piece of paradise. They are affordable, too! With your initial investment you’ll get a lifespan of 15 years or more out of your Bali beach hut. That’s much longer than most people keep many of their outdoor accessories.

W hen you’ve found your dream floor, you’ll no doubt want it installed as quickly as possible, without the hassle. Let an experienced expert take care of the installation for you or do everything yourself — the choice is yours. Here are a few tips to make laying new flooring easier: How much flooring do I need? Waste is inevitable from short ends to ripped boards in the last row of each room. One solution is to round every measurement up and order an extra pack. On average 5% extra should be enough. W hy leave a gap around the edge? Floating floors will expand and contract in response to moisture in the air. A 10mm gap all around will ensure the flooring can move unnoticed. Most movement is in the width of the boards. Cover the gap with 19mm skirting or scotia. A second layer of kick boards in the kitchen as an alternative to scotia. What underlay should I use? Underlay negates small imperfections like screw heads. It provides a moisture barrier below your floor and can add an acoustic barrier. A 2mm combilay is adequate. Lay it one width at a time before covering with flooring. High density underlay will reduce noise transfer if laying upstairs. Install your laminate, vinyl or timber flooring
When do I need to level the sub-floor? Manufacturers recommend installation on a subfloor with variation in levelness no greater than 3mm over a 3m span. Check all areas with a straight edge and fill those areas outside the tolerance. (eg: a 2m 2 ‘depression’; 5mm deep in the centre but diminishing to 0 at the edge needs filling) You can plane and sand the high spots of a timber subfloor to reduce the need for levelling. Where can I learn more? QuickStep have produced an excellent “How To” video that is worth watching before you start:

THE EXPERT ask affliction of epidemic proportions tragically experienced by hundreds of millions daily, and affluence is certainly not an antidote. Unresolved pain is debilitating indeed, often eventually disabling, yet in many cases it can be prevented. Here in Australia known as the lucky country, approximately 1 in 5 people 45yrs+ (well over 5 million) live with ongoing pain. Conversely, having 1st hand witnessed poverty while in India, the people there paradoxically fare better overall than Aussies in relation to retaining their flexibility & mobility into old age. To clarify this was not because of practicing Yoga which naturally comes to mind re India. I was however privileged to meet & pray for a prominent yogi and lawyer who was suffering so badly with severe back pain that he was unable to stand for long or to walk far and god miraculously healed him – indeed a highlight of my stay. Though the precious souls there obviously do suffer in many ways including some with painful conditions, it is nevertheless true that multitudes survive on meager amounts of clean natural foods/ herbs without any of our typical comforts. No welfare system whatsoever or aged care facilities exist – yet the elderly are in generally healthy, physically mobile & vibrant. Turmeric being a copiously consumed dietary staple undoubtedly plays a substantial role. And so as is always the case, science has finally caught up with the natural, as volumes of bonafide research now continue to validate the anti-inflammatory virtues of Curcumin. Inflammation is a both a precursor & result of degenerative disease, as it drives the painful symptoms thereof. Impressive studies have now proven Circumin’s functional ability to support the brain, liver, heart and joints in addition to having anti-cancer properties. Whilst this is true, bio-availability is the majorly crucial, and for all the many Curcumin products on the market, only a small number will actually deliver the degree of relief required by those with severe chronic pain. It is a fact that Piperine in black pepper does increase bio-availability by 2000% thereby enhancing absorption. In the absence of consistently consuming the dynamic duo daily in quantities such as the Indians do however, the Curcumin needs to be potentiated for the efficacy to be made manifest. This basically means unlocking the full power residing therein and in its absolute best therapeutic form, the permeability to cross the blood-brain barrier is 350 X greater than the average! Herbal formulations & Nutraceuticals can certainly be wonderfully beneficial, though they’re definitely not all the same, nor do they all actually work well. Perception is king
BY GEOFF GARLINGE
Hope for those suffering with chronic pain
Q: I’m struggling with severe chronic pain that’s now affecting my ability to enjoy many things I love to do. Every adult in both my immediate and extended family are without exception also suffering daily from one form of pain or another. Like me they’ve had a gutful of harmful drugs with their side effects that just treat symptoms as we continue to go backwards. We’re now all desperately looking for sound direction we can trust and follow, not online mostly American “miracle cure” marketing lies. So I’m hoping you can share some trustable natural strategies that in your experience are actually effective as well as safe in the long term to help us. A: Please don’t think I’m being at all insensitive to your situation in any way when I say it’s great and furthermore admirable that you’re managing to reach out to your relatives in the midst of your own pain. This is the ideal scenario towards health & healing. Thank God you haven’t fallen into the typical trap of becoming embittered as sadly so many chronic pain sufferers do to their own demise. Caring for others while at the same time enduring suffering ourselves, confers mental & physical benefits that most never even contemplate or experience. So more power to you! Before elaborating on the subject & concerning your comment re having no confidence in Dr Google & the predominantly US marketing scams, is good for many people being taking advantage of to hear. Just when we think we’ve seen it all, there’s another supposed “miracle cure” with no real substance whatsoever offering amazing benefits but delivering none. A classic example trending right now is Bee Venom cream, where pathetic AI shows deformed arthritic joints & even actual bones miraculously changing shape. One wonders how anyone could believe such waffle & the answer comes down to real desperation. As if this wasn’t bad enough, it gives the impression of the fake healing happening rapidly while the complete story built around it is fabricated, including the origin of the supposed venom content. Not only are an enormous number of vulnerable individuals sucked into and exploited by these scams, unfortunately many who may have otherwise looked at the credible side of the Natural/Herbal field consequently as the saying goes throw the baby out with the bathwater, rejecting all when some actually is highly beneficial for chronic pain relief & management. Moving back to reality, chronic pain due to inflammation/degeneration is a global
in marketing & driven by the love of money lacks any duty of care, promises much, then fails dismally to bring about best health outcomes. Therefore it’s imperative to only use genuine researched synergistically delivered substances/formulas as prescribed including dosages & intervals tailored to specific needs according to an individual’s clinical diagnostics. The following list is not exhaustive (feel free to contact me for consultation), though does illustrate some easily accessible consumer friendly majorly beneficial items to alleviate & manage chronic pain relating to multiple conditions: • G&W AUST PainGo Capsules and Spray – powerful synergistic relief • 100% Pure Australian Lactoferrin – No.1 Anti inflammatory Nutraceutical • SLO 4 AKGs + Squalene – multifunctional & highly beneficial Furthermore it’s a given that dietary intake plays a huge role in pain management. It really is a no-brainer, yet amazingly the need to employ an anti-inflammatory diet escapes the average Aussie. While as a rule diets do fail and rather a balanced lifestyle wins, nevertheless the Mediterranean persuasion is by far the best functional & sustainable way to go. That said, there’s always room for improvement to up the ante & as such here are the basics to embrace & enjoy: • Avocado – everyone’s best friend & an ideal replacement for butter • Bee Pollen – Gold Nutrition sourced from pristine remote WA (request info) • Berries – forget weak blueberries & Acai', go for MAQUI (again ask for info) • Broccoli – must be ACO or better take Green Fusion i.e. WG, GB & Alfalfa • Cherries – Organic Georgian Juice for Joints, Heart, Sleep + perfect with GF • Chia Seeds – Black Volcanic are the real deal with 2 X Omega3 of fish oil+++l • Cinnamon – Pure Ceylon is a delicious anti inflammatory spice • Citrus – Organic Lemons & Limes, moderate qty of Oranges/Mandarins • Dark Chocolate – min. 85% great in Coconut Yoghurt with fruit etc • Duck – High Oleic Acid + Selenium reduces inflammation • Fish – wild caught local cooked in MCT/EV Olive Oil + Alaskan Red Salmon • Green Tea – choose Matcha to derive sufficient potency of EGCG • Nuts & Seeds – Org Almonds, Brazil, Cashews, Pepitas, Sunflowers, Walnuts

Mediterranean diet a heart-healthy eating plan
eating primarily plant-based foods, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts. replacing butter with healthy fats such as olive oil. using herbs and spices instead of salt to flavour foods. limiting red meat to no more than a few times a month. eating fish and poultry at least twice a week, drinking red wine in moderation, Getting plenty of exercise. Research has shown that the traditional Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of heart disease. The diet has been associated with a lower level of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol — the “bad” cholesterol that’s more likely to build up deposits in your arteries. The Mediterranean diet is also associated with a reduced incidence of cancer, and Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
Women who eat a Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil and mixed nuts may have a reduced risk of breast cancer. For these reasons, most if not all major scientific organizations encourage healthy adults to adapt a style of eating like that of the Mediterranean diet for prevention of major chronic diseases. The Mediterranean diet traditionally includes fruits, vegetables, pasta and rice. For example, residents of Greece eat very little red meat and average nine servings a day of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. Grains in the Mediterranean region are typically whole grain and usually contain very few unhealthy trans fats, and bread is an important part of the diet there. However, throughout the Mediterranean region, bread is eaten plain or dipped in olive oil — not eaten with butter or margarines, which contain saturated or trans fats. Nuts are another part of a healthy Mediterranean diet. Nuts are high in fat but most of the fat is not saturated. Because nuts are high in calories, they should not be eaten in large amounts — generally no more than a handful a day. Avoid candied or honey roasted and heavily salted nuts.

Healthy Hair Nutrition Tips W hen trying to achieve healthy hair, it’s important to go back to basics and look at your diet and how this can influence your hair health. Key nutrients that influence your flowing locks: Omega-3 Fatty Acids - Our bodies are unable to make it. When it comes to hair, omega-3s are found in the cells that line the scalp. They are responsible for providing the natural oils that help maintain a healthy scalp and hydrated hair. A lack of omega-3 in the diet can result in a dry itchy scalp, dandruff and dry brittle hair. Best omega-3 sources: Oily fish such as salmon, sardines and mackerel. Plant based – Avocado, olive oil, walnuts and pumpkin seeds. Protein- Hair is primarily made from protein, in particular keratin and collagen. The most important dietary tip for strong healthy hair is to consume protein rich foods. If you are lacking protein in your diet, your hair can appear dry, thin and brittle. Best protein sources: Lean red meats, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, Greek yoghurt, cheese. Plant based - Nuts, tofu, beans & legumes, seeds (particularly chia, sesame, poppy and sunflower).
Iron - Hair grows approximately 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) per month. Hair follicles need a nutrient rich blood supply to grow effectively. Iron is key in this. When iron levels are low (anaemia), the nutrient supply to hair follicles are reduced and can result in slow hair growth and hair loss. Best iron sources: Beef, lamb, chicken, salmon, tuna Plant based - Kidney beans, tofu, green lentils, chickpeas, cooked wholemeal pasta. Vitamin C - Helps the body to absorb iron and as a result improves scalp circulation and hair growth. It also plays a role in the production of collagen which is one of the building blocks of hair. A lack of vitamin C can cause slow hair growth and even cause shedding of the hair. Best vitamin C sources: Plant based - Strawberries, kiwifruit, blackcurrants, blueberries, oranges, papaya, broccoli, red capsicum, sweet potatoes. Biotin or vitamin H - is essential for growth and maintaining a healthy metabolism. It plays a role in the body’s production of proteins which can encourage the growth of stronger hair. A lack of biotin in the diet can result in brittle hair and hair loss.
Best biotin sources: Eggs, salmon, liver, cow’s milk. Plant based – Wholegrains, soy flour, toma toes, almonds, onions, carrots, sweet potato, cauliflower.

Tips for preparing your house to sell Make the garden and facade look presentable Make sure you pay attention to the details. Replace any chipped paving, clean out the garden shed and garage, replace any dead trees and plants, tidy up the gardens, place pot plants out the front of the house and invest in a new door mat. The outside of the house is the first impression that a potential buyer is going to have of the property and you have one chance to make it a good one. Clean the windows This step is often overlooked but it will make an enormous difference to the overall appearance of your home. Consider hiring a professional if you have lots of windows. They have the equipment and know how to get a big job done quickly. Clear your home of any clutter Get rid of any excess furniture, knick-knacks, books and trinkets. When people are looking to buy a home, they’re going to look everywhere. Remove any clutter completely or have any extras stored until you’ve sold your home. Repair damage You may not think that a potential buyer will notice that the kitchen sink pipe is wrapped in duct tape but there’s likely to be at least one person who will seek out the hot water
a cavalcade of hair and odours that make the house unliveable to them.
system, the meter box and every exposed pipe in the house to make sure it’s working. Be thorough with your repairs or you might risk losing a sale. G et the lighting right Use lamps, candles and dimmer switches to make sure the lighting is ambient and welcoming. You want to make people feel like they want to live in your home. Book a pet sitter Pets can be an enormous deterrent for some buyers. Even if your pet doesn’t leave hair or odours, a non-animal lover sees your beloved cat or dog they will start to imagine
Call in a professional cleaning team Potential buyers will scrutinise every corner of your home especially the bathrooms and kitchen. Hire professional cleaners to steam clean your bathrooms, floors and cupboards. You don’t want to lose a sale over some toilet mould that you missed last time you cleaned the bathroom. Put in the effort and you’ll reap the rewards. Be bothered to get that little stain out of the carpet, to give the oven a proper cleaning and to make sure that your home smells beautiful. The next owner of your home will be sold on these details.
Go to that bingo game with friends, we’ll make sure you can get there safely. Host that tea party with the family, we’ll make sure you get your famous scone ingredients on the list, and in the pantry. Our trusted carers are here to support your independence – your way. Multi-million-dollar Fire and Rescue Boost T he Central Coast will soon benefit from an enhanced emergency response thanks to upgrades across Fire and Rescue NSW properties and fleet. Work is well underway on a $1.8 million fire station refurbishment at Umina, while a new million dollar rescue truck will be stationed at nearby Gosford. Improvements at Umina Fire Station include upgraded facilities for the station’s 36 firefighters and the introduction of designated protection zones in line with FRNSW’s ‘Clean Fire Station Program.’ This measure reduces exposure to potentially contaminated material which can be brought back to stations from fires and emergency scenes. At nearby Gosford, crews are set to welcome a new ‘Rescue Pumper’, a truck specially designed in consultation with firefighters. Valued at more than $900,000, the truck will provide our communities with an enhanced rescue capability. The new truck also boasts updated storage allowing firefighters easier access to their most used tools, vastly improving operational response times. NSW Government is investing an additional $17 million over two years into the renewal of the State’s firefighting fleet, strengthening our frontline emergency response. This two year investment will deliver more than 15 new fire trucks to replace ageing vehicles, with initial funding part of a $98.7 million capital program over the next year which also funds new and upgraded fire stations. communities. “Our local firefighters serve our community every day, putting themselves in harm’s way to protect our community. Along with Gosford’s new truck, Umina’s modern and safety-focused upgrades showcase the NSW Government’s commitment to putting the wellbeing of local firefighters serving the community front and centre.” Quotes attributable to FRNSW Acting Area Commander, Matthew Waldon: “We are excited about the upgrades delivered by the NSW government and FRNSW. “Umina Fire Station was last upgraded in 2001 when it was converted from an indoor sports centre, so the refurbishments are significant. “For our crews further north in Gosford, I know they are certainly keen to familiarise themselves with the new and innovative Rescue Pumper.”
Emergency Services, Jihad Dib: “The NSW Government is investing in our emergency services to deliver the equipment and infrastructure needed to support our firefighters and protect lives, property, and communities on the Central Coast. “This investment brings the station in line with modern standards and ensures a safe, clean work environment for firefighters. “Gosford’s brand-new fire truck will enhance response times and provide protection for Central Coast communities for years to come.” Quotes attributable to Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch: “As our Central Coast community grows, it’s so important that the capacity of our emergency services grow alongside our region. The refurbishments at Umina are significant and the changes will be very much welcomed by Central Coast
