Colleagues Unknown Una Blundell , Secretary Devon Branch Our Branch lunch at Carriages restaurant in Exeter’s Devon Hotel brought an unexpected surprise for me. One of our longest serving members, Harry Ellis, was with us to receive a 50 year certificate from our Branch Chairman, Alan Street. I had never met Harry before but I learned that we had both worked in the Met, at Hampstead Police station. I was also surprised to learn that we will both be attending the Hampstead 70th anniversary re-union later this year, which will allow us another opportunity to strengthen this friendship. It was also really good to be joined by two serving officers at the lunch, and even better that we will have their company on the 2020 Cunard Cruise. On the next table to us were members of the Spirit of Normandy Trust, who had been at a commemorative event nearby. We were delighted to meet

Four Seasons in One Day Bob Lea , Staffordshire Branch Twenty seven members and partners, along with sixteen guests, recently took a five day break in Eastbourne. They braved storm Gareth, experiencing sun, strong winds and rain during their stay. On Saturday night they were joined at the hotel by Margaret & Tom Hughes and Sue & Nigel Golds from Sussex Branch, who we know through the Caravan Section. On Sunday, David Stamp (Chair of Sussex Branch) and his wife Caryl met Bob & Mary Lea (Sec and treasurer of Staffs and also organiser of the visit) in Brighton. They were given a very informative and entertaining tour of the Royal Pavilion. Good use was made of their bus passes as most guests visited Brighton, Hasting, Lewes and Bexhill on Sea during their stay.
